The villa at Port Minervois, built in 2006, consists of 2 double bedrooms (1 with double bed, 1 with twin beds). Bathroom with shower. The sitting room, dining room and kitchen are combined to form a large area containing 2 comfortable sofa beds, TV and a well designed and equipped kitchen with ample cupboard and drawer space and a large fridge. Two sets of double glass doors lead out onto the garden with views over the vineyards, down to the canal. Directly outside the front entrance is a reserved parking space. Port Minervois in Homps, in the Languedoc region of South West France is a holiday village with a secure entry system; the houses built in the typical Languedoc style. There is a reception area with WiFi, swimming pool, fitness centre, jacuzzi, 2 tennis courts, childrens' play area, and a boules pitch for the general use of the guests. Guests are permitted to bring 1 dog. The Canal du Midi is only a short distance away and a footbridge leads over it into the small village of Homps with its restaurants and other amenities including a well stocked, though small, supermarket attached to a garage on the edge of the village. Olonzac, is only 1km away and has a larger range of shops, bars and restaurants and a bank with a cash machine which is useful. There is a small supermarket in the town centre and also a new supermarket on the edge of the town. On Tuesday mornings there is a market selling just about everything; fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, organic bread, cooked foods i.e. roasted chickens, couscous and paella. There is a very pleasant round walk through the vineyards from Port Minervois which enters the town on the west side of Olonzac and returns via the canal.
